Ramadan Kareem!! Yes the Holy Month Of Ramadan is here. A month of fasting and charity. This year is tough and real testing times especially for the people in the Middle East, who will be fasting for almost 15 - 16 hours. Hats off to their dedication and commitment. Here are some healthy and delish juice ideas for Iftari.I have made these sugar free but those with a sweet tooth can add sugar depending on the ripeness of the fruit. Refresh yourself after a day long of fast!!
Orange,Carrot & Pineapple Punch
Ingredients:
Orange - 1 medium
Carrot - 2 medium
Pineapple - 4 medium pieces
Method:
- Squeeze juice from the orange and pour in a blender.
- Wash, peel,dice the carrots and add them to the blender along with the pineapple pieces.
- Blend well until the juice becomes smooth.
- Serve chilled.
Apple ,Ginger & Lime Refresher
Ingredients:
Apple - 4 medium
(I used fuji apples)
Ginger - 2'' piece
Lime - 1
Method:
- Wash,peel,core and dice the apples and add them in a blender.
- To this add the ginger pieces and lime juice.
- Blend until smooth and thick.
- Serve chilled.
Strawberry & Kiwi Mix
Ingredients:
Strawberries - 10 - 15
Kiwi - 2 medium
Water - 1/4 cup
Method:
- Wash, clean and add the strawberries to a blender.
- Wash, peel and roughly chop the kiwis and add them too
- Blend to smooth and thick consistency adding 1/4 cup water.
- Serve chilled.
Mango Lassi
Ingredients:
Alphonso Mangoes - 4 small
Yogurt - 1 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder - A pinch
Method:
- Wash, Peel and Dice 3 mangoes and add them to a blender.
- Fine chop one mango and keep aside for garnish.
- Blend mangoes to a smooth thick consistency by adding the yogurt and milk.
- Serve chilled garnished with mango pieces and cardamom powder.
Note:
- I have made all these jucies sugar free. However you may add sugar as per your taste to all them.
- Store them in bottles in refrigerator.
- Always keep them covered if stored in vessels.
- Use them before 5 - 6 hours of making. do not keep them more than that as they might lose the original fresh taste.
