Wheat Atta (Flour) Ladoo

"Diwali, The Festivals Of Lights" is here. With its arrival comes the time to get together and celebrate  with sweets and savouries. Here I start my festive delicacies with a easy and healthy ladoo made with Wheat flour. It happens to be a Konkani delicacy too and is known as Churmundo. We love this one, it just melts in the mouth. I have tried and kept the quantity of ghee lesser than normal. As its festive season we can afford to forget the calories.

Wheat helps control obesity, serves as a complete meal for diabetic patients, reduces bile acid secretions, improves body metabolism, helps control childhood asthma etc..
Ingredients

Servings : 25 small ladoos

Wheat Atta - 2 cups
Melted Ghee - 3/4 cup
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 2 tsp

Method:
  • Roast atta well on a low flame till it nice brown colour.
  • This may take about 20 - 25 mins
  • Add in the powdered sugar and cardamom powder and mix both well.
  • Then mix in the melted ghee and start binding into ladoos.
  • Wheat ladoos are ready to be served.
  • You can serve them with a raisin on top or with a topping of chopped nuts as illustrated in the pic below.

  • For this you have to dip the tip of the ladoo in ghee and then dip in the nut mixture of your choice.
Notes:
  • If you are using whole cardamoms then you have to powder them along with the sugar.
  • Please do not alter the amount of ghee else the ladoos will not bind properly.
