Mango Sago Pudding

It is the end of May and time for the King of Fruits to bid us Good Bye. My kids go to Chinmaya Mission's Balvihar classes and there I had the opportunity of tasting this  finger licking dessert made as prasad by one of the parents. I quickly noted down the recipe and immediately started working on it.

Mangoes have a generous amounts of Vitamin C and A. It boosts the immune system, acts as an antioxidant, lowers cholesterol levels, cleanses skin and prevents heat strokes. Enjoy the last few ones by trying out this dessert and tell me how much or how little you liked it :)
Ingredients:

Mangoes ( I used Alphonso) - 2 medium size roughly chopped
Milk - 3/4 cup
Condensed milk - 1/2 cup ( I used only 1/4 cup because my mangoes were very sweet )
Sago/ sabudana/ javvarisi - 1/4 cup

Method:

  • Wash sago well and soak for an hour.
  • After an hour the sago seeds would have increased in size.
  • Wash again thoroughly and boil till they turn soft and transparent.
  • Drain below running water and keep aside.

  • Meanwhile add the chopped mango pieces, milk and condensed milk in a blender and blend together to a smooth paste.
  • Add more milk if the mixture is thick.

  • Transfer to a serving dish and add the boiled sago.
  • Mix well and refrigerate.
  • Mango sago pudding is ready to serve. Enjoy it chilled.
  • Garnish with chopped mango pieces before serving.
My little angels enjoyed it so much that they finished it in a jiffy.

Note: You can alter the condensed milk quantity as per your taste. But minimum quantity has to be 1/4 cup for the above proportion.

Enjoy Cooking!!
